Boston Marathon Training

Boston Marathon Training

Thanks to Mother Nature and the Polar Vortex I was stuck on the treadmill for most of the week. I was finally able to hit the roads on Saturday and Sunday morning before heading to the gym. I am hoping that the next few weeks of training go a little better than this week.

I did make it to the gym at 0530 for 6 out of 7 days this week, so I am really proud of that.

Marathon Training: Week One

Monday: 5.2 Miles on the treadmill (Scheduled 5 miles)

The snow and Ice kept me on the dreadmill but I made it work.

Tuesday: 6 Miles on the treadmill (scheduled 6 miles)

Wednesday: Rest Day (Scheduled rest day)

I enjoyed my rest day because the treadmill was painful.

Thursday: 4.5 miles on the treadmill  (Scheduled 7 miles)

Everything that could go wrong with my run, did. I was not feeling the greatest mentally then my music was not working and my GPS watch was not working either.

Friday: Rest Day (Scheduled 5 miles)

I’m not sure what happened Friday but I went to the gym in the morning and after a long day at work I just wanted to sleep.

Saturday: 5 miles outside for the first time! Woohoo! (Scheduled 8 miles)

I ran 5 miles to the gym and I had planned to run back but the freezing rain came pouring down.

Sunday: 7 miles (scheduled rest day)

I had to make up for the unscheduled rest day that I took on Friday. I ran 1 mile to the gym and 1 mile back followed by 5 miles on the treadmill in the evening.

*I am using Coach Salazar’s “Lead From the Front” training plan*
